Got That Dog in Me
I am a lost sheep
In the darkness of gloom
I search for the Shepherd of sleep
Peace and hope to stay, in a dark room
I climb lower into nothing and shake
Who will save me
Whom do I seek
Is it easier to lay down at the feet of the wolf than wait for peace?
The wolf is in me, it bites at my wool
It’s drools at my heartbeat irregular and scared
The wolf takes a low growl reminding me of pain
Reminding me I am alone
I wait
Surely I am worthy of my Shepherd, I must be brave
The sheep is sweet and vulnerable
Will she survive?
The sheep is meek and humble
Will she be rewarded?
The sheep is lost but hopeful
Will she be found?
