Blue
I fell in love
With the color blue
It crushed me
But I liked it
I soared upon its weightlessness
High in the sky
Then the trouble set in
Deep blue became heavy
I drowned in blue
It filled my lungs, my blood, my tears, I became blue
I trudged along thinking well, blue is cool
I can be blue
But
Blue is something to love, to breathe, to smile at
To lavish in, tell me…has there ever been anything more lush?
BEING blue is cruel
My heart can’t take it- my mind hates it
I’m not you, blue
I’m the sun and moon that illuminates you
I’m the fish that blends into the hue
The wind that propels you into view
The eyes that close so they can take it in
I am the velvety groan of a singer in pain
But
I am not blue
I do however, love you
